+ Enrolled in classes at my university. WOOT! I'm also taking one online course and I was thinking about doing posts about my assignments, discussion, what-have-you. It'd basically be me talking about school like a ginormous nerd. And this sounds like FUN TO ME. Is anyone interested? I'm thinking about maybe starting a School Filter.

I'm down. :)

What are you gonna be studying?

+ Watched the most recent episodes of The Closer and was so charmed that I decided to go BACK TO THE BEGINNING. And huh, Brenda Leigh Johnson's accent is kinda less think when the show first started. But still, LOVE IT.

I just got the S1 DVD. I love that show so so much! Although the recent episodes are awesome, I've realized that I'm getting to the point of HATING Pope and wishing Johnson would just let him go.

+ Pondering an essay on what BtVS Season 6 and Buffy mean to me (aka me talking about depression and fiction).

Yes, please. I've been thinking about doing the same thing as I've been rewatching S6. :)

Just finished watching Tabula ( ... )

What are you gonna be studying?

Intro to Fiction Writing. :D

What do you do with a BA in English? Learn how to write better fanfic!

I LOVE that show, too. SO MUCH. And you know what? I think you're right. Pope just feels so redundant right now. BUT OMG how amazing was the Christmas two-parter? The ending was so BRILLIANT. And when Captain Raydor (Brenda's "friend") talked about how she did the marshmallows and Brenda was all "oh they're a little burnt." LOL.

Looks like the depression essay is a comin' then. I think I'll do that tomorrow. I'm kinda looking forward to being lazy the rest of the night after getting so much done today.

Oh! There's a Christmas special? I haven't seen that yet! Last I saw, Johnson was turning down Pope's job and asking him to stay on to maintain her own position at Major Crimes. Must got check out the new stuff. :)

Yay, for enrolling!!

I actually loved Gone With The Wind! I've read it probably a hundred times(and it's really not an exaggeration) over the years and I can honestly say that I'd never thought to compare Buffy with Scarlett. I'd always thought of her closer to Cordelia's character because of the riches to rags portion. *shrugs* I'd love to read your thoughts.

The more Buffy essays the better! The more Buffy anything the better. I'm so tired of seeing this fandom dwindle.

And yay for writing more fic..no matter who the pairing. It's always good to read more whedonverse fics.

OMG! Really? You're reading the Fever Series too? What do think so far? Who's your favorite character? I can't believe the last book is finally almost here!

Yay for enrolling!

My mind is actually blown by the similarities I noticed. And yeah, I do see some similarities between Cordy and Scarlett, but then recall how Cordy started off as Buffy's mirror. I think ultimately though I see more parallels between Scarlett and Buffy's narratives.

Yay to more fandom stuff!

And YES FEVER SERIES. OMG. I've been reading these books since forever. Actually, I started reading her books as a teenager, so yeah I've read all of her romance novels, too, that set up the 'verse. I love Mac, totally love her. Who's your fave?

Sadly, the book series has gone on for so long that I keep forgetting how stuff goes down, you know. Like my mind is blanking on other character's names. I pretty much love it all though. The worldbuilding is brilliant imo.

I do hope you do an entry with Buffy-Scarlett. I'd love to read about the parallels.

I think I've read everything she's ever written(although I could be wrong). And I own her Highlander Series and Fever Series. I love Mac and my favorite male character is Jericho. There are so many reasons why I adore him it's not even funny.

The worldbuilding is brilliant imo
I couldn't agree more!

Oh, that's interesting. Yeah, I'm actually really happy with the portrayal of depression in Season 6. But then, I suppose it's different based on how we see the show and also because people experience depression in different ways.

("Stage Fright" is a TERRIBLE EPISODE and we will speak of it NO MORE.)

I was actually going to address that in my essay! That "get over it" mentality that the characters have, it's also present in fandom. And I think that's realistic. Because so often people don't really 'get' depression.

They'll even say something like they get it, then go on to say, "get over it!" and it's like "uuuh no, you are demonstrating how you don't get it right now."

And so I like how the characters don't understand for the most part. Except for Tara, I think. She seemed to have an inkling.

I would love to be on the school filter! And would also love to read the depression essay :). I love all general ruminations on how we interact with stories -- half of my time as an English major is spent realizing I do it differently than many :).

Congrats for enrolling!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for spelling "y'all" correctly.

Yay! for BtVS stuff. And really, I'm interested in the Buffy/Scarlett thing.

And you totally gave me a chance to use my only Scarlett icon (which kind of reminds me of your "I'm a bitch, ask me how" icon). ♥

I have seen it misspelled "ya'll" which makes me roll my eyes and grind my teeth.

Oooh, goes to read.

Also, icon: that's *you* driving.

That misspelling is definitely one of my pet peeves. It makes me want to scratch my own eyes out. I am hateful.
