First time post

Apr 30, 2011 17:50

Although I've had this account for a while, I've never posted anything. I did have a blog on another site but at some point last year, sort of let it go. It's not that there's not activity in my life- I guess I just assumed that the minutia of my daily life just isn't that interesting.

Where to begin----2010 ended with a dear brother-in-law recovering from triple bypass surgery. He's doing well, just slowed down a bit. My job is going well. We received a 3% salary increase in January. It may not seem like much but at a time when so many are unemployed, I was thankful. Work is work but I am finally in a place where there is little stress (unless it's the end of fiscal year) and I don't have anyone breathing down my neck. As long as the work is done and our CPA is happy at month's end, I am good to go.
Hubby is doing well. He suffered from a bad case of pneumonia last fall as well as pleurisy. Not a good combo when you are a liver transplant recipient with a compromised immune system. He seems to take a licking and keep on  ticking!
Oldest son will be wed in December of this year. That will be an exciting time. Locations have been secured as well as best man (his younger brother), groomsmen , bridesmaids, etc. It will be nice to have all of my children and grandchildren together in one place.
I took a little jaunt to upstate NY at the end of March to see my daughter and her family. Her children are the only 2 grandchildren that we have- ages 2 and 5. I got to see snow and experience some bitter cold but I enjoyed it. A nice contrast to the Florida heat and humidity.
Since turning 50 last September, the same time as my friend, vanillafluffy, my body has not been extremely cooperative. Little things here and there. I used to go like the wind but now it takes a little longer to get up steam as well as keep it going!
That will do it for my first post. All comments and questions are more than welcomed. I look forward to blogging and I apologize in advance if I bore you.
