Home

Only we know that your place is an empty shell, with a few sticks of furniture and some doo-dads you no longer need. The things you love - your books, your music - are all here. We have two closets, two dressers, two telephones; but only one home.

Much of the time, we are away for days, weeks, or months; but that’s all right because, as the song says, ‘Home without him ain’t no home to me’.

Sometimes you go alone, and I am left without you. Then I wait for you to return and bring me back home.
