Happy Weekends - 2
I went around asking everyone in office, what they planned to do for the long weekend. Even when people wondered with surprise asking me what the long holiday was about, without getting suspicious I went ahead explaining and reminding them it was Good Friday and how I managed to get my tickets booked well in advance. Only when Aks, told me, I re-checked the company holiday calendar and found to my dismay and shock that we were working on Good Friday ! :(
A true taurean I am, I didnt like my plans to be changed, so I went ahead sticking to my original plans of visiting home and so applied for a leave on Friday. My train reached chennai on time at 430 am, and I decided to take the ECR services to home. The first bus to Thiruvanmiyur from City stn is only at 5 am. And from Thiruvanmiyur, I can either get a bus to Pondicherry or kalpakkam directly via the East Coast Road( ECR). The total cost is Rs 26(5+21). A huge saving compared to the fuel used by the car.
I didnt know that Pondicherry's name got changed to Puducherry. My current affairs have taken a back seat these days. So while at Thiruvanmiyur, I kept waiting for Pondi Buses, I saw this Puducherry bus and didnt bother to ask if it went via Kalpakkam. Luckily the conductor himself asked me where I wanted to go and I managed to get a seat in the video coach. Everything was fine, untl the conductor asked me to take a seat near an old lady, who was very excited about the movie on the video and kept resting on my shoulders, while I tried my best to avoid her enjoying the rising red hot sun on the east coast. A scene I would love to watch tolerating any kind of disturbance around. Next time, I am on this road, I will have my own super camera.
Days and Nights at home was spent feasting on prawns, fish and more of prawns. Good Friday fasting has also taken a back seat these days. Irrespective of the heat and sweating, one thing I love about summer is the fruits in the garden. All trees blooming with flowers which would soon turn into tasty fruits. I managed to get some early fruits and also click few pics of the produce from our garden. I hope, when the season is right, I am there with my new camera.
Though I miss Kiddo bro a lot during holidays at home, some times, its better to be the only kid in the house !!
