Countrywide services the mortgage on my home.
Why I am associated with these B and C paper people (folks with good credit are A paper), I don't know, because my credit scores are phenomenal. But when I went to refi earlier this year, they bought the loan and there's nothing I could do to stop the mortgage brokers from selling it to them. It's a dirt cheap loan by the way, 4.85%. I guess they were desperate to add some A paper to their portfolio. They had serviced my original loan. I thought I would be getting rid of them when I went to refi, but lo and behold, like a stalker, they won't leave me alone.
Anyhow, I don't hate them, even though all Americans should, given their role in our current economic crisis.
Well, yesterday they sent me a letter saying one of their employees stole all of my confidential identity info, including my SSN.
