--where the fuck the above icon came from? *points* I step away for, like, a month pretty much, and it suddenly appears there? o.0
Anyway, because I am a sado-masochist, I will list out everything I am attempting (and in most cases, actually getting done--but, as said before, not savoring) lately:
--5 classes, whcih are: Intermediate French, English survey (British Lit to 1680 or whatev), Linguistics, Feminist Philosophy, and Sex & Gender in Anthropology. (Note: so far, these classes do not require insane amounts of work or reading--they are very interesting, necessary, even fun classes. Still, the rest of my activities do not leave nearly enough time for homework.)
--I have been promoted to Managing Lab Monitor... which basically means I hired people and I'm responsible for making sure the monitors actually show up. (Note: this is by far the least stressful thing, actually; that is, not requiring not much time out of my day.)
--President of the Gender Club. This, also, only requires a few hours a week; it's one of those over-arching things.
--The Mann Show (for KPoet) starts up again next week. This requires even less than a few hours a week.
--And the biggest whopper for last: the QC. Not only do I copy-edit (that is, everyone's bad writing goes through my head dozens of times in a matter of 8 hours every wed.), but I seem to be writing a lot of articles for crazy reasons I barely remember.
Case in point: this week I am covering the Writer's Festival. Now, I would want to go to this regardless--I mean, Rober Olen Butler is coming! And some Charles Boch guy, who used to be a QC editor, and wrote this book called "Little Children". Also, Nilo Cruz (who won some Pulitizer Prize) is coming, 'cause the theatre department is putting on his play "Lorca in a Green Dress". So, tomorrow, I'm going to the open-rehearsal for that.
And in the hour and a half between that and his actual presentation and book signing, I have to go and reshoot a scene for my movie, then dash back from Ball to the Shannon Center (a fairly small trek, admittedly, so thus: doable).
And yes, this movie, will be shown at Campus Movie Fest here at Whittier along with the others in a few weeks... and, should it prove worthy, perhaps make it to other screenings? Who knows?! But yes, it is called "The F Word" and me and my lesbian husband still have to edit it in the next few days--and pop in that scene. Unfortunatley, Genesis and Cuddles rewound the tape to look at their scene (the first one, after Cuddles' intro) and I accidentally recorded over it when I did Andi's interview. Whoops!
But other than that, what we have is quite hilarious. I'm impressed that I got such good people. Not the uber-theatre people, but the kind of people who can really have some fun with improv, and I rather liked the results, despite my crappy camera-work, lol. (I just remembered
jeremytblack's joke about him wanting me to be his cinematographer--I can only imagine what he will say when he sees what I did with this one. At least it's brightly-lit this time. XP)
And! this weekend I've actually been getting some homework done--at least, studying for French. Quiz on monday (tomorrow), and I'm pretty sure I'll be prepared for that. Lab to do tonight and some reading for Linguistics. (I got kinda screwed for Anthro tomorrow a little bit; don't have the book yet, so Ima have to borrow it from someone. That may or may not work out--oh well! I should try and do some research for the essay due wednesday, though...)
Okay, time to get busy! Sometimes I feel lazy, but actually, it's suprising, when you look back on your week, how long it seemed, because you were doing so much. Virgin Mary! I'll talk about hawt guys and horniness next time (or the time after that), I promise!
