Well, that last batch of reviews went better, I think... at least they were less perfunctory and I managed to talk about the films more in-depth. Still a bit disjointed in places, but at least I"m making strides in becoming a better review writer. (If you haven't read them yet, just click on the film or review tags and get purusing! ^_^)
Meanwhile, I have a lot more to do, but they are lumped together more thematically. There's the ones I saw at the French Film Festival, obviously; but also, since I got Netflix, most of the movies I've rented thus far (excluding Queer as Folk seasons) have been selected based on their infamy as sexually explicit ones. One could accuse me of looking for stimulation, but I have actually found the films to be fascinating in the way they deal with sexuality (especially when they want to go really explicit), and, often, when they turn out to be totally different than what I'd expected.
So... I think I'll continue doing the single-movie-per-post method, and see if I can't get better at writin' em up as I go along! ^_^
Preview of what's next:
The Piano Teacher (been wantin' to do this one for a while--few movies have got me thinkin' about it afterwards as much as this one)
9 Songs (ditto on the thinkage--but for different reasons)
Baise-Moi
Romance
Shortbus
Killing Me Softly
Y Tu Mama Tambien
The Swimming Pool
Probably not reviewed in that order, probably, but close enough... Then, maybe, I can get to writing up the FFF--it was pretty intresting...;P
