It was all so real!
Neil Gaiman was going to record a song with Tori Amos. He was practicing on a soundstage, which was outside, at the foot of a high bluff. There was a kind of sparse, deserty landscape around. He had a nice voice, a tenor. Tori was warming up at the piano. They were beginning to perform together; there seemed to be a large crowd of generic dream people around me.
Suddenly, a huge army of orcs appeared at the top of the bluff and attacked us! They were shooting firey arrows down and everybody started running away, only to be blocked by another flank of the orc army on the right. It was really intense, like the Battle of Helm's Deep.
There was more to the dream, involving swimming to Venice and trying to jump on a train, but the orc army attacking Neil Gaiman and Tori Amos was the best bit. I'm not sure what it means; either I need to listen to less Tori Amos, or read Tolkein again. At any rate, I feel like spending the bank holiday watching the trilogy and knitting.
