It suddenly occurs to me that Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country has become my newest comfort movie. I've got it on right now, in the background while I'm knitting. It's nice and pacey, not too silly, with as much Klingon goodness as you could ask for: David Warner as Gorkon! Christopher Plummer and his nailed-on eye-patch quoting Shakespeare in true mad-man style. Scotty throwing tantrums. Kirk and Spock squabbling like the married couple they are. Everything you want in a Star Trek film.
I'm close to finishing my hoodie, but it's gonna be a close call. I'm hoping I have enough yarn left to finish the hood itself...the whole thing is a bit rough around the edges. But it'll be good enough to knock around in, and I can throw it in the washing machine, so that's something! I'd rather make all my garment-knitting mistakes on the cheap acrylic hoodie, before I tackle my stash of Rowan and Debbie Bliss yarn.
