Friday night knitting

Ever since I got The Letter I've been slowly collapsing as all the stress in my body has been letting go finally. The actual residency permit card came yesterday morning, and today I just slept and slept. It's sooo nice.

I've just been knitting and knitting lately, now that's I'm done knitting things for other people. I finally, finally finished my September scarft a few days ago (the Lace Ribbon scarf from Knitty); it's blocking in the spare room now. I'm glad I got it done while it's still cool enough to wear it! Been working on my hoodie like mad; I'm almost done with the front and I think I might actually succeed in making an actual not-accessory piece of clothing that won't turn into a complete disaster. Got the new issue of The Knitter, which I can never resist even though I'm nowhere near skilled enough to knit their patterns (there's an article about "revolutionary" and "subversive" knitting that's gonna make me rant, but I'll save it for another day). And found Alice Starmore's Fishermen's Sweaters at the library---clearly there's a fellow knitter on the staff there. Tackling a gansey is one of my lifetime knitting goals. Someday!

I was knitting the other night while watching Antiques Roadshow whiletea_drinker77  was on her laptop; I was saying something about how much I like Tim Wonnacott from Bargain Hunt, and then I stopped and said: "God, I'm an 85 year old lady in a 20-something body!" I'm pretty okay with that though. We speculated that I might be aging in reverse, and when I really am 85 I'll be clubbing and sleeping around and doing lines of coke.
