30 Days of Buffy: Day 15
I kind of want to take a nap, but I've been wanting to take a nap for the last two days, I know that's just the depression talking. So I will drink green tea, read fantasy novels, and knit things, and do Buffy memes instead!
Favorite Male Villain
Aw, I gotta go with The Mayor, no question. He's funny, and diabolical, and just a brillant satire on a certain kind of American politician that I am all too familiar with, born and raised in Red State Bible country as I was. I think what many people who aren't from that kind of environment don't realize that Mayor Wilkins isn't really an exaggeration or a charicature (well, aside from the whole snake-demon thing). Politicians like him really do like corny jokes, and the Boy Scouts, and clean living, and they really are evil bastards. I mean, the state Senator who gave the commencement address at my college graduation had a 100% approval rating from the Christian Coalition, and they are scary motherfuckers. Which is one of many reasons why I didn't attend.
Anyway, the Mayor has so much fun being evil that I absolutely adore him.
MAYOR: This officially commences the Hundred Days. Nothing can harm me until the Ascension. Gosh, I'm feeling chipper! Who's for a root beer?!
