The World Is An Expensive Place

I wonder if I should move to one of those impoverished African nations. You know the kind...where a dollar goes a LOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGG way. It must be time to go grocery shopping again, because I'm contemplating eating salsa on its own, since I have no chips. Maybe I'll just make another one of those cajun pork melts that I've perfected. But I'll be damned if my jaw doesn't drop every time I see the grocery receipt. I wonder if the bill is going to decrease to the same degree in the fall when Sarah leaves for university as it did when I went off to Trent in the fall. On first thought, I doubt it, as I consume far more than she does (best example: I go through about 3-4 bags of milk per week and CAN go through a pack of 8 burgers in a couple of days).

So I just booked my G-test for a couple of weeks from now. $75 GONE! And I'm going to have to fill up the tank in a couple of days....65 bucks down the drain. I really should take a look into that mixology course at Fleming, so I can get my skills up a bit, because Jake's sure isn't paying the bills. Its aggravating when I drive across town to work what turns out to be, at best, a 2-hour shift. Sapphire Lounge? Of course not...not right now anyway.

I've just come to grips with the fact that it's almost 1 in the afternoon and I am still without pants. I'm also sitting next to a mound of laundry that is almost massive enough to warrant its own chairlift.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot! HOME-RUN DERBY TONIGHT!!! I should probably take a look at the rosters...see if my boy Travis Hafner made it, since he got snubbed for the all-star roster (despite hitting 5 grand slams before the all-star break, the first man in the history of baseball to accomplish such a feat! Let's see Jason Giambi do THAT!)

baseball, food, laundry, driving, money
