Sera, babe, please don't screw this up. I like this show. I love this show. Don't fuck up this season like I think you are going to.
I get that you're basically trying to reboot this whole thing. Not sure I agree with you, but if you're going to do that, you need to remember that in order not to lose the fans who got you your seasons 2,3 and 4 (you remember Sera, back when Dawn wasn't just turning the money making machine and the next season wasn't for sure) you might not want to make one of your two lead characters a raging asshole to his brother. It's not particularly sympathetic, especially when you take no time to actually come up for some decent motivation/plotline for this raging asshole-ness.

Also. A point on the introduction of new characters.
Do you remember what we hated about Bela so much? What Kripke condeded later was a mistake? We fans don't like new characters who are jerks and make Sam or Dean look like fools or toss glib one liners at either Winchester.
We especially don't like it when new characters are jerky to Dean and Sam is an asshole who sides or hangs out with these jerks.
I know you love Sam to pieces. But you do need to realise that Jared Padalecki is no Jensen Ackles. Ackles will take a piece of crap on a page and work his magic... Jared...has some moments.... for sure, but not consistently and he does not do nuance and cannot act with his face. He needs dialogue and loves waving his arms around.
Oh, nevermind, I don't know why I am mentioning this about Sam, since you seem to have forgotten about your "what happened to Sam" storyline when it comes to consistent characterisation about 2secs after Jared appeared on the screen. At least Jensen played Dean consisently from the get go and right through to the big reveal about what had happened to him hell. Can't you steal some of those ideas for Sam?.
Also, is it shitty writing or is Jim Beaver getting worse at chewing the scenery. I am totally over those "Bobby yells at the boys" scenes which you seem to use as a plot crutch quite regularly. Please give Bobby some consistent motivation and don't make him an asshole either.
Now, this also seems so negative. But Lisa and Ben don't suck! I thought they would, but they don't. Probably because everything else sucks so bad. Maybe you should just cut Sam, all those stupid Campbells and just give us scenes of Dean in his pjs and walking around the house barefoot. That was nice.
