The IB is definitely lacking in anything even remotely creative -- unless you do Theatre Arts, but even that targets a different sort of creativity. I probably wouldn't do very well in creative writing though, because my brain's been trained to be purely academic, but that would have been a nice challenge.
Sounds like you wouldn't have been happy doing any other university course. I'm happy for you! :D
