Smatterings of Suburbia

Not much happening. Labor Day trip was great. Jeremiah and I shared a birthday celebration. Big ones for us: 5 for him and 30 for me. It was great to spend time with my family, but especially the little guy. He's such a neat kid. Then again, isn't that how I feel about both nephews and the niece?

My friend Nicole gave birth to a boy last week. I got to see her and her husband while we were in Pittsburgh. I am so excited for them. He's just adorable. Haven and Mike found out that they are having a girl last Friday. They had a party and Skyped in a few of us from out of town. It was awesome to talk to everyone for a few hours.

Joe and I bought a new bed last weekend. We got the mattress and box spring for a great deal and then picked up the frame at IKEA. IKEA owes us a part on a bookcase we bought, but for the most part, the same day delivery service was helpful, especially when your only car is a Yaris. The mattress and box spring arrived yesterday. So now we have the guest room mostly set up, and we're just about unpacked, pending the arrival of the bookcase part.

According to Wii Fit I'm down just about 8 lbs since August. I'm sliding into my workout schedule quite easily, and I'm making it through the C25K program little by little. I'm leery about the next few weeks, but if I have to repeat, I have to repeat. I have no set day for a 5K, so this is really for me to do it and to get into a habit.

Next weekend I'll be in NYC for a wedding. Amy is coming up to meet me. I'm excited for this one. Plus it will be good to have some Amy time.

Other than that, life is pretty status quo. I see Dark Shadows is on Netflix, so let's see if it is as awful as I remember.

family, married life, couch to 5k, holy shit! weddings, pittsburgh, baby boom
