I got shanghaied at dinner tonight, heh.
Had arranged to meet a couple of girls I used to work with at the store for dinner tonight, since I haven't seen them in months. J idly mentioned that she might talk her boyfriend into coming along, and to bring my husband if he felt up to it. He's still coughing pretty badly, and has 12 hours on a plane to look forward to tomorrow, so he stayed in and ordered pizza.
Was not aware that it was an impromptu mini-baby shower. Peanut now has a baby seal rattle, a sleeper for when he's a bit older, and a pair of -- I'm not kidding -- white, camouflage-trimmed Adidas sneakers. They're freaking adorable, even if he won't be able to wear them for the first few months.
They promptly ganged up on me to pick up my part of the check, too, when I attempted to reach my purse and couldn't quite lean over far enough to get it in time. Such deception on a poor pregnant woman, *sigh*
...The sneakers still crack me up, though.
