Can I just. The whole "familicide" thing, V's arc -- this is extremely good writing. Like. I want to take creative writing classes from Rich Burlew, because of V. V's character. I don't even like V. My favorites are Roy and Haley, with a side of Elan and the Azurites (I want Hinjo and O-Chul and Lien and Kazumi and Daigo to come baaaaaaack). But hir character is just so compelling.
Also, Tsukiko? Jeez, that hurt. I don't know why I didn't see it coming -- I mean, she's constantly one-upping Redcloak and getting more and more arrogant and self-important and looking back it's like... it was always just a matter of time before Redcloak snapped. But the execution, and the reactions... "I love you, I love you all! I love you! I love you! Why don't... you love... me?"
And the Monster in the Darkness puts it best. "I'm just really sad now, thinking about Tsukiko. She just wanted to be loved." "So what? Who cares?" "Exactly. That's why I'm sad."
Because... nobody cares. Tsukiko is dead and no one will mourn her. No one.
That's. That's painful.
