Dear Journal,
I’ve not dreamt in quite some time, but the past two days have been full of them. Yesterday started off with a nightmare. Not like a nightmare with demons and such, but more in the financial world. See, in my dream, I was talking to you at what can only be explained as an IHOP if all the food was served at a bar. I reached over and grabbed an omelet like you would a check and ate it like a starving wolf. I thought it was mine, but as it would turn out, it didn’t. The problem became that it belonged to a big Hawaiian guy who demanded I pay him the $10 it was. I told him that there was no way it was $10. He explained to me, rather angrily and clutching the neck of my shirt, that I could pay him the $10 now, he could beat the hell out of me, or his mom (a lawyer) could sue me for theft and make me pay $900 later; my choice. I had one hour. Because I know that the legal system is messed up and people can sue for anything now a days, I believed those to be my options. I quickly opened my wallet, but found no money. A result of using my card for everything I suppose. He then told me I had only two choices left. I told him I could get the $10 in that time. Unfortunately, the people around me wouldn’t lend me any money and you were also carrying no money on you. I didn’t give up for that hour, but at time end with no money at hand and no way I could pay $900, I resolved for the fight. Just before the fight started, I tried to explain my way out of this. I didn’t work. He was about to hit me when I yelled “WAIT!” He stopped for a second, and in that second, I woke up.
I headed off to work after a little bit of trying to get my bearings. It was much later than I have been waking up (5:00), but it was the time that I used to wake up. I was still trying to do everything that I normally do in the morning only quicker. I found that that wasn’t working so well. I still made it out the door and to work, and for the first time in quite some time, I didn’t feel like I needed a nap. I also had a project waiting for me when I got to work. Of course, since this was the first job I’ve had in awhile, milked it a little. I mean, my time worth half of Greg’s or Andrew’s. If it is assigned to take them an hour, then it’s assigned to take me two hours. And this was, again, the first real job that I’ve had in over a week. I don’t get paid to just be there; I have to be working.
After work, I headed to my girlfriend’s house. Unfortunately, I made it to her house in the same amount of time it SHOULD take me to drive home. That’s not right. No, I was stuck in the most irritating traffic jam I’ve been in also in quite some time. I couldn’t believe how long it took. All the same, I made it there and I had a great time. Her mom cooked up some food on the grill. It was a little burnt, but it was tasty all the same. I also gave my girlfriend a massage, we watched some of the anime “Soul Eater”, and we played some “Marvel Ultimate Alliance”. I had asked her during the time that I was there if I could get the recipe for some food she makes for me sometimes and a Mountain Dew for the long drive home. She told me that I could get both. However, she couldn’t find the recipe and forgot about the soda. I grabbed one without her knowledge though. She apologized for both, but I told her not to worry. It happens. I know that I’ve done the same thing.
One rather quiet drive later, I was at home. I was tired so I just headed to bed pretty much immediately. That’s when I had another dream or two. I can’t really explain it very well, but here’s what I remember. The first dream involved my family in some capacity, but all that I can remember is that I was given some Fun Size Butterfingers that were so old that there was no taste of peanut butter and it was chewy like gum. It was disgusting and tasted more like I was chewing sand, but I popped two in my mouth near the beginning of the dream and spat them out at the end. I woke up at 5:00, a little cold because I was sleeping on top of all of my covers, and said “Screw it. This is my day off,” and, in one swift move, bounced my body off the bad, threw the covers back, hit the bed, and flung the covers back on. BANG! I was asleep again and was put into another dream. I don’t know why, so don’t ask me to explain, but I found myself in a desert as the magic caster of an RPG. Seriously, with HP and everything. My other two party members, again don’t ask me to explain, were Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Platt. Weird. But I did wind up waking up at 8:00. Man, I feel so rested. I haven’t slept that long in forever.
