Woke up at 5:00, out of bed at 5:30. Had to scrape some ice off the the car. Nice easy drive into Bethesda. Ate some sausages from the cafeteria.
There was no 7:30 meeting today. Nobody told the students, so we all sat there until 8:00. From then until 9:45 I went to the CT reading room. At 10 we had 2 hours of lecture with a Dr who was an interventional radiologist. The first was of the lumbar spine, that was interesting and useful. The next hour was on just the things you can do with interventional radiology. At noon there was a lecture on breast tissue assymmetry. That was excruciating because it was on differentiating the minutia of mammograms, which A) I will never do and B) of which I have not been informed how to read the non-minutial aspects, so I was completely lost.
But I got off at 1 and got home by 2. Mom stayed home sick again. The check engine light came on on the way home. I ate some lunch and started reviewing orthopedics around 3:15. Gramma came and visited for a litle bit, she was at Costco in Leesburg and likes to stop by when she is. She didn't stay long and I continued learning about the sural nerve etc until 5:15. I then geared up and went to mom's little gym for a 600 cal treadmill hill-wall/flat-run combo. Came back to mom's, showered and then went over to Amy's. Kevin gave me the drive I'm going to use to back up my data for the OS reinstallation. I talked to them about medicine and school and various things.
Since Kevin has a funnel and mom does not, we checked the oil there again. But as we were just topping it off a little Kevin noticed that there was some black gunky residue on the engine block. I'm starting to think that something that was old got super cold in the polar vortex and ruptured. So.... don't know what to do there. Kevin didn't seem super concerned and neither did mom when I told her so the plan is to continue driving and get it into the shop tomorrow afternoon as possible.
Now I'm back at moms, I did like 10 minutes of duolingo. I'm waiting for Alex to call or maybe I will call her, then I will be going to bed.
