Welcome

You can find more info on my userinfo page - but this is just here to say that I'm very happy to be friended by anyone that wants to read me. I rarely post friends-only, and that only tends to be about things that mention work, so if I don't friend you back you're not actually missing much ( Read more... )

Oh, please. I don't know what the orignal typo(graphic error) was but I assumed this was just an informal greeting. Not objecting to the hyphen before a conjunction then?

@Andrew: Love your content, BTW. Friending you. I've seen you knocking about in various webby places but it was this article that decided me.

No objections to informal/loose use of language in blogging, no (although now that you mention the dash-but it is a little glaring it's not something I'd find objectionable enough to comment on). I don't remember the error either, but if I felt the need to comment on it (and didn't feel the need to specify what the typo in fact was, implying that it was obvious once you looked) it was most likely a you're/your-style gaffe - one that I find people tend to be relieved to have caught and fixed. I don't correct everyone nor everywhere but given this is Andy, and that it's his top-of-the-page greeting post, I probably made the call that he'd prefer it to be free of potentially embarrassing typos.

I find it fun that I think I know exactly how you ended up here - from Simon's link in Ben McCallum's FB status update, correct?

Hola! I'm Gab, based in London, not an airhostess although I think I might enjoy that for a day. Maybe less.
I found you through Rosamicula's LJ, whose writing I love.

Welcome aboard - I've added you back.

I'm terribly lax with most commenting though - and frequently behind on my reading - I largely add people back so they can see the odd friends-only post.

You have an incredibly interesting journal.
It's a shame you don't post more about you though.

Yeah - I haven't really seemed to find the time recently. Hence the profileration of polls, which are a way to incite debate without me having to actually come up with a position and write about it clearly. And I'm never sure if people are going to be interested in me writing about badminton, DnD, watching Sex And The City, coding at work, etc.

My life is largely pleasantly dull at the moment. But possibly I should try sharing some of the dullness around :->

Hey Andrew, first found your journal three years ago, around the same time I found dfordoom and communicator, so I can't really tell who introduced whom. After a three-year hiatus, I now tend to visit and read irregularly, browsing through one or two months' worth of entries at time. Your journal's as enjoyable as always.

I wanted to thank you for the delicious feed, it's opened whole new worlds of information to me. I truly consider your account there one of the best finds of 2008.

Oh, and I know it's 20 days late, but is it possible you haven't seen this yet?

Happy holidays!!!

Cheers very much :-> Glad you're enjoying it.

I've stolen the link (it'll be in tonight's post).

(I'm not adding you back, purely because you don't post - I assume you don't intend to)

So I did! Oh well, looks like we're stuck with each other now :->

I don't ever check my delicious inbox. Well, about once a month or so I end up at the site and take a look, but not very often. Comments on my journal (or emails to andrew@ducker.org.uk) are the best way to get to me. Or add me on IM and bug me there.

Aloha Andrew,
Since I'm constantly flitting over here to read you, I thought I might as well attach myself to your shockingly (and no doubt embarrassingly) large fan club. Mahalo for always giving us something good to read.
