I got a text a few days ago which really shocked me. My Dad is getting re-married, and doing so on the 11th of October, which, as you know, is just around the corner. I'm glad that he's happy and everything, but suddenly I feel so far away. Where as my brothers and friends can go to the pub and buy him a drink, I cannot. Now, don't get me wrong. Today I went into the Social Services office because I still hadn't received my PPS Number, despite filling in the forms etc, required. It turns out the letter got lost in the post (more on this later) but there is no other problem. They wrote it down for me on a scrap of paper, but at least I have it now. So I'm now working full time at Dunne's Stores as a Night Packer. It may not sound too fancy, and I guess that's it's not, but it pays exceptionally well, too. €11.16 an hour, actually!
