"There are many “correct” ways to cut a brain after fixation. Always remember that the purpose of the cut is to recognize and demonstrate the abnormalities present, describe them with accuracy, and localize them anatomically. Ideally, another experienced person reading a description of the lesions should be able to know precisely what areas are involved and reach the same gross diagnosis or differential diagnosis. For these reasons, it is important to describe and not diagnose".
