#134: Twelve Pains Of Reading Fics With Your OTP.

Aug 25, 2015 11:22

1. Your OTP is a secondary ship in the fic. And by "secondary" the author meant that it appears for one paragraph in a 60-chapter fic.

2. Your OTP is constantly written in fics with another ship. Which is your NOTP.

3. There are no clever AUs, because people find it hard enough to ship those two in their actual reality.

4. It is your dark/evil/wrong ship and the fic is tagged with domestic fluff.

5. It is your fluffy/warm/cute ship of two pure cinnamon bunns and the fic is tagged with torture/gore/non-cons.

6. You've found a perfect fic with just one annoying detail that is against all your headcanons and it bugs you through the whole story.

7. There's finally a new fic in your OTP's tag! And it's warned for this one thing that you will never ever read.

8. Half of the OTP is written perfectly. In character and in tune with all of your headcanons. The other half of the OTP is a mix of OOCness and all of the headcanons that annoy you to no end.

9. The fic is great and fascinating and writes your ship in a very convincing way, but also describes their relationship in a way that makes you hope they will end up not getting together.

10. They fell in love/in bed way too easily. That's not what you read epic length fics for, dammit.

11. Half of your OTP has such a brilliant relation with another character that you almost wish your OTP would change. Or get upgraded to an OT3.

12. Everything is great and perfect, and then the terrible, completely OOC, petnames happen and nothing will ever be the same, babe.

bored at work much, toolipan job, otps, fic reading and other extreme sports, fandom cheers me up, random post is random
