Tonight we went through a tin of old coins from Rohan's parents' house. There were lots of awesome old coins. Egyptian quirsh from 1908! Netherlands 10 cents from 1885! Pre-WW2 coins from Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, East Africa, India (with Queen Victoria on the other side), an 1878 20 pfennig from Germany and - my favourite - a 1 rouble coin from pre-revolutionary Russia.
And wrapped up in paper, two old banknotes which I dare say were brought back after WW1; a 50 centime note from France and 1 mark from Germany.
None of them are worth very much but they're a lot of fun to have :)
