Movie Review: Acrimony

Apr 19, 2018 11:58

I had a free movie ticket the other day. The only faintly interesting thing playing was Tyler Perry's Acrimony (yes, I know); I didn't see Rampage was available until I'd redeemed my ticket. I'm gonna save like 5 of you a trip: Acrimony sucks. Way worse than Iron Man 3, it's that bad. The first 10 minutes are (1) a judge droning on to a bored Taraji P. Henson (2) Taraji talking way too long & too vaguely to her court appointed therapist and (3) Taraji "going back to the beginning" for her therapist, to some crap that started in college by meeting a boy. A huge problem with Taraji's character Melinda is that's you immediately think "that's a male voice behind this inaccurate female character"; as you can guess, Acrimony is produced, written, and directed by Tyler Perry. I left after 10 minutes. Two thumbs down for the most boring movie ever.
