Title: He's Baaaack!
Characters: HeeChul, Siwon, SungMin
Rating: PG
Summary: The first concert.
Author's Note: An AU based on HeeChul and his kisses. I wrote the original story for miracle______'s crossover challenge in 2008. It didn't do very well. But the idea stuck, and I decided to develop it more.

SungMin checked the sound on the guitar, glancing delightedly around the empty arena at the sound.

"You look way too happy," Siwon said, sitting down next to him.

"After I found out you'd gotten someone else, I didn't think I'd be back," SungMin admitted, setting the pink Hello Kitty guitar in the stand beside him. "I should have trusted you and HeeChul more."

"Yes, you should have," HeeChul said over him, and SungMin looked up.

"Hey, hyung."

"Let's see," HeeChul said. "The wardrobe noona said she did your nails."

SungMin grinned and showed off his hands with the bright pink nail polish that almost matched his guitar. HeeChul smiled. "Good," he said, and turned away. "Let's go, Siwonnie. They're getting impatient to get us out of here."

Siwon laughed and got up, then pulled SungMin to his feet. "He hasn't changed much," he murmured. SungMin grinned.

"It'd be the worst thing in the world if he did," he murmured back, and Siwon nodded.

In spite of his seeming comfort with the whole thing, this first concert had him nervous. SungMin tried not to show it as he pulled the guitar over his head.

"Just one song to check the sound," a voice boomed over the loudspeaker. "All the way through."

HeeChul turned and named a song - one of SungMin's favorites - and smirked at the grin SungMin gave him.

Halfway through, SungMin took a step and felt his knee give. He fell with a discordant crash that brought everything to a stop. HeeChul had started to move before anyone else and reached him almost immediately. "I'm fine," SungMin said before the singer could say anything. "it doesn't hurt. I think I just stepped on it wrong."

"Well, don't do that!" HeeChul snapped and stalked back to his place.

The second time, SungMin didn't move as much, although he found it hard to stay still. He stopped one of the stage hands and asked him to put a stool within reach so he could use it if necessary. He caught up to Siwon and HeeChul as the two stood outside the green room, talking softly together. "What's wrong?" he asked.

"There's someone in there," HeeChul muttered. "I don't know who it is."

"His name is Kim Ryeowook," their manager said from behind them. "He asked for this interview. It's low key, he just wanted to know how SungMin was doing."

"Me? Why?"

Siwon slapped his shoulder lightly. "What do you mean, why you?" he asked.

"We said no interviews before shows," HeeChul said.

"He figured out why you didn't have SungMin," the manager said, and all three of them stiffened.

"I'll make an exception this time," HeeChul said slowly, and gestured for SungMin to go in before him.

HeeChul's laugh didn't surprise SungMin at all when the singer caught sight of him trying to get his stage costume on over the brace on his knee. He'd forgotten it until Siwon had said something in the interview. "Oh, blow it out your ear," SungMin muttered with a minor glare directed at HeeChul. But he couldn't do a good job of it because he was concentrating on something else at the moment…. "Ah. Finally," he muttered, and fastened the pants. He'd worry about getting them off after the show.

"It's not nice to laugh at a convalescent," Siwon said as he came to a stop behind HeeChul.

"It's not nice to accuse a well person of being a convalescent," SungMin retorted, and reached for his Hello Kitty electric guitar. "How long?"

"Fifteen minutes," HeeChul said. "You'd better be warmed up by now."

"Mostly," SungMin told him, playing a near-soundless scale on the guitar. "But the rest will be done by the time we need to be in place."

Siwon had already wandered off, hands moving in a rhythm SungMin could almost name. HeeChul lifted one eyebrow. "I'm glad you're back," he said. "Don't hurt yourself."

SungMin smiled. "I will do my best not to," he said.

Any remaining pain from his injuries vanished at the roar of the crowd that greeted them when they stepped on stage.
