Just finished a new story which is part of a double effort of Lightcudder and I. It's going as a gift exchange onto AO3, so here is the link to mine:

The Priority of Questions - Ed Straker

There were several ideas behind this one and its twin (on which Lightcudder is still working). We often watch UFO episodes together, talking them over while doing so, via a chat client. While watching A Question of Priorities, which certainly is one of the most tragic and darkest of all UFO episodes, insofar that Straker lets his son die to potentially secure a renegade alien (and fails to do so anyway), with Alec Freeman - his best friend - becoming an unwitting accomplice in that, we wondered how the hell Straker and Freeman ever could stay friends afterwards. Both men are quite likely - if in character - to shoulder that guilt, and neither would take this lightly. Add to that that any father would resent the person delaying help to his only son and the kid dead over that delay in the end.

The next thing was the noticing of how easy it would be, to hold such a conversation via chat client, live and without script, while each of us would be one of those two characters. And after we did that and had loads of fun with it, we discovered that to stay integral each of us had to write an own story from "our" character's POV . That's how we arrived at having the same dialogue, but two entirely different stories.

I like it! I like it a lot!
