without going into too much detail, here's a current situation where i'm looking for some feedback. my family is having thanksgiving on friday and i asked if i could bring a friend (female) to join us since she is not going home for the holiday. after two weeks, i get it out of my father that no, this is not permitted due to my mother. now, as we all know i am very uncomfortable around my family as it is, and basically feel unwelcomed (mostly due to my mom....i excuse my father somewhat b/c he's just not very social as is). meanwhile, my friends have BECOME my new family. i feel as if by not allowing my friend to come, then i am rightful in saying i'm not going to go either.
