Flack and Murphy aren't even really sure when he happened. Murphy just found out she was pregnant, and the only person she'd been sleeping with at the time was Flack, so logic dictated that he had to be the father. However, they didn't even remember having sex around the supposed time of conception, so that made things a little more complicated than they would have liked.
Considering that Murphy had her first daughter and family in Chicago, Flack transferred out there to be with her and his kid. Their son, Andrew, grew up with the precinct almost like his playground, getting to know all the cops by name and face, as well as them getting to know him. He went to school, wound up majoring in psychology and criminology, and when he graduated, entered the police academy to become a cop, like his parents.
Technically you're not supposed to get this attached or adopt the victims in your cases, but Stella really couldn't help but fall in love with him. His name was Michael, and his only parent, the only family he had, was her vic. She and Flack had been trying for kids for a while with no luck, so they decided to adopt him, instead of sending him off to foster care.
Michael grew up to be a smart, capable kid with his mother's love for science and his father's smart mouth. He wound up going to Fordham for science, and got sucked into academia. He wound up becoming a professor at one of the local universities, and still teaches there, despite worrying about his parents getting shot down on the job.
Flack and Lindsay were married for about a year before she got pregnant with twin girls, Jessica and Nicole. Lindsay wasn't exactly thrilled with twins, given that she had to carry them, but Flack was kind of excited for the instant family.
Both girls grew up in a happy home, with their parents supporting them in whatever avenue they wanted to pursue. Jessica got her father's love of food and wound up going to culinary school, while Nicole got her mom's love of science, and wound up teaching high school science at one of the local public schools.
Marianne Lachlan-Flack was born to two parents who really weren't all that sure what they were doing with each other. They'd met over food, bonded over that, and had been dating seriously for a while when Marianne came along. Flack wanted to get married, but Nellie didn't want to rush things, so they didn't get married until Marianne was about four.
She was Daddy's Little Girl, turned into the rebel-type one she turned fifteen. She was a lot like her Aunt Sam, minus the alcoholism, just more in the sense that she wasn't meant to be a cop. As she got older, she found herself liking the nomadic kind of life more and more, and decided she wanted to see the world for herself. Her grandfather financed the bulk of the trip -- mostly the train tickets and things -- while she took jobs along the way to keep her in things like food and other necessities.
This drove her father crazy, and he worried about her all the time, but eventually she came back home again, setting herself up as bartender in the city, keeping herself close to home.
"Little Sally Walk!-er sittin' in a sau!-cer," Five year-old Lily said as she swung between her parents' hands. The Flack family was taking advantage of Flack's day off from the office to go to the park and just have a day to themselves. Lily had one hand in each of her parents before she started adding a bit of a skip to her step and started singing under her breath. "Rise, Sally, Rise. Wipe your weary eyes."
"You got a spot yet?" Aiden asked, glancing back at Flack over her daughter's head. The little girl's dark hair was pulled back into pigtails and it bounced slightly as she skipped over the sidewalk. "Cuz I don't know how much more my arm can take of this."
"Oh! Oh! Daddy! Can we go eat by the fountain? PleaseFlack looked back and forth between the two of them for a moment, before nodding and gesturing for her to run ahead. "Alright, alright -- go pick a spot." The fountain wasn't far and she didn't run very fast. Flack just slid an arm around Aiden's shoulders and pulled her in closer as they followed their

Why she was holding a toddler in his face, Flack didn't know, but that didn't change the fact that he hadn't seen her in weeks, she didn't even chose to stick around when he did see her, and she was holding a toddler in his face. A toddler he had no idea what to do with.
"Take him."
Flack tilted his head so that he was looking around the kid at Ruby, and raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me?"
"Take him." The kid's blond curls shook slightly as she forced him at him again, and Flack did so, before looking over at her again.
"What the hell is going on?"
"Congrats. You're a father."
Flack's eyes widened slightly before looking over at the kid, then back at Ruby. "What"Kids folks are dead. Demons. You're a cop. Figured you can protect the kid
