lasagna

I have been wanting to make lasagna for a while, so today was the day. This recipe is from The Pioneer Woman, who claims that it is the best lasagna ever. When I looked at the ingredients, I was skeptical because it is seasoned with only salt, parsley and basil. I wanted to try the recipe exactly as stated, but I could not find hot breakfast sausage, so I used hot Italian sausage instead.

I went through my kitchen cabinets the other day to look for items that I could purge. I pulled the pans I thought I wanted to get rid of, but I'm still hesitating. This lasagna was made in the Baker's Edge Lasagna Pan. I used to have the brownie pan and sold that when I bought the lasagna version. I have plenty of pans that could serve as lasagna pans, so I decided to see how I like this pan. I don't remember if it's dishwasher safe, but if it is, I doubt it would be cleaned very well by the dishwasher. In any case, I'm still undecided on whether or not to keep it since the pan does do a nice job with lasagna. I generally don't like uni-taskers and while I originally bought this with the intention of also using it for brownies, the volume of brownie batter required makes the pan ill-suited for the task. Guess I'll just think about it some more.
