Character meme > interpretive essay.
General:
1) What's your character's name? Plato Holt. Prefers: Either first or last name is fine. Any references to children’s’ toys will be met with a withering glare that is as polite as he can make it.
2) How old is he/she? Very late twenties to early thirties.
3) Is your OC a boy or girl? HUNKA HUNKA MANFLESH.
4) What's his/her race? Human, English.
Appearance:
1) If this character were to suddenly become part of the 3D world, and ended up in a heavily-populated area, how many stares would he/she get? Yeah, his hair and eyes are shamelessly odd-colored. But otherwise, he’s fairly boring. Besides, people would be too busy ogling Benen to notice him.
2) Is your character considered normal in his/her own world? Yep.
3) What would be his/her most recognizable feature(s)? White-colored eyes (not blank), pink salmon colored hair, glasses.
4) Would you consider your OC as attractive? H’YEP.
Personality:
1) Temper: No.
2) Does your character ever get depressed? Occasionally, of course, but he doesn’t like dwelling on bad feelings and will go clean something to comfort himself.
3) Leader or Follower? He’s really neutral to everything, so follower.
4) What is the main aspect of his/her personality? As polite as can be (often to the point of being very distant/apathetic) and generally hung up on good manners, a compulsive cleaner, and emotionally detached though easily manipulated when it comes to sex.
History:
1) Does your OC have a family of any sort? If so, are they still alive? His parents (his mother especially) were extremely strict about his up-bringing, hammering good manners into him as soon as he could pick up a salad fork. They later packed him off to a boarding school and all that good stuff, but they meant well and he holds no grudge against them. No siblings, no relatives that he knows of or that I care to create.
2) Is your character out on his/her own? If so, why? Uh, he lives with Benen, so...
3) Has he/she encountered any traumatizing events? Not really, I’m not inventive enough to think of anything particularly appalling to happen to him. Most of the bad shit happens to Brinkfried and Benen in our RPs.
4) What was probably the best time in his/her life so far? Leaving school, getting together with Benen.
Romance:
1) Single? Nope. IRONICALLY ENOUGH.
2) Has your OC developed any romantic relationships? This is his first.
4) Does your character like flirting? He doesn’t mind at home, but gets shy about it in public. IT'S NOT PROPER.
Symbolism:
1) What animal would you associate your OC with? A cat. A SALMON COLORED CAT. (but not a salmon-flavored cat because then all of the cats would want to eat him and cannibalism, even in felines, is BAD.)
2) Musical Instrument? A piano.
3) Element? Air? Water? Dishwashing detergent?
4) Planet? Pluto. ‘COS IT SOUNDS LIKE HIS NAME AND I’M LAME, HAR HAR HAR.
Showing the Love:
1) Do you draw your character? Yeah, but I can never pull him off right.
2) Do you write about him/her? Not free-writing. But little side plotlines in my head, yeah.
3) Do you use him/her in any rpgs? Yessir.
4) What other ways have you appreciated your OC? I STOPPED TRYING TO MAKE HIM INTO A KICKASS SECRET AGENT.
RANDOMIZE!
1) Is your character wanted for anything? Nah.
2) What are three weaknesses in him/her? He’s boring, apathetic, and anal retentive.
3) Strengths? Very tactful (or he’s supposed to be, but I’m a shitty writer), great at doing chores without being asked, and a smashing good host.
4) Does your OC drink or smoke (ect.)? He gets really slutty when he’s drunk. Or at least he’s supposed to, being that he never touches alcohol if he can help it.
5) What's one quirk about him/her? One word: TEA.
6) Does your character have any phobias? Well, he likes to keep his appearance nice and to make sure things are neat and tidy and clean, but they’re not really phobias. I don’t think he likes spiders very much, though.
7) What could you do to get him/her into a blind rage? It would take a LOT, that’s for sure. Easiest way is to say something shitty about Benen and he'll probably get upset.
8) Does your OC like chickens? They're dirty and they smell bad. But make good eating.
The Final Question:
What would you consider your relationship with your character to be like? Well, it took a LONG TIME to get him into what he is today. And he’s still a bit of a gratuitous creation on my part, but I like him well enough. He absolutely refuses to be drawn the way I’d like him to look, though, and that continues to annoy me.

General:
1) What's your character's name? Jianjun (which means "build the army"), uh, Zhang, I think. Though maybe I’ll change it to something less Gary Stu-ish, like “Chang” or “Lin.” Prefers: Jianjun, Jian, or Ji.
2) How old is he/she? Like, eighteen. My youngest RP character.
3) Is your OC a boy or girl? He’s just barely a man.
4) What's his/her race? Human, Chinese-American.
Appearance:
1) If this character were to suddenly become part of the 3D world, and ended up in a heavily-populated area, how many stares would he/she get? None.
2) Is your character considered normal in his/her own world? Mm-hm.
3) What would be his/her most recognizable feature(s)? Short black hair that he likes to waste copious amounts of gel on, a huge freaking smile with a crooked tooth on the right side and one piercing in each ear.
4) Would you consider your OC as attractive? Sure.
Personality:
1) Temper: Yeah if you’re Dietrich or if you diss his family, and despite the fact that he loves them like crazy he can never, ever get along with his mother and his uncle.
2) Does your character ever get depressed? Yeah, when he realizes that he’s the shittiest son ever. :D And when he sees/hears about nasty things that Dietrich likes to do to Brinkfried.
3) Leader or Follower? Both, depending.
4) What is the main aspect of his/her personality? Cheery and good-natured in general, fiercely loyal to his family despite the fact that he ran away from home/they kicked him out, totally lacking in ambition (and potential, for that matter), tries to be honorable but usually ends up being hypocritical.
History:
1) Does your OC have a family of any sort? If so, are they still alive? His father died when Jianjun was quite young, and his mother was having a difficult time raising four kids on her own, so her brother and Jianjun’s uncle(who is also a widower, unfortunately) joined their family. Jianjun was a fairly good kid until he started hitting his teen years and he became resentful of all of his inherited responsibilities as first son and started to act up in general, disrespecting and disobeying his parents and dishonoring his family and other negative actions that a teenager can do in general that begin with “dis.” He and his parents fought all the time, nearly every day, and though he was too old to be “disciplined” anymore, there were often objects thrown and things broken, along with healthy daily doses of cursing and screaming and whatnot. He has two younger sisters and one younger brother (all with names that I’ve currently forgotten and am too lazy to look up again) and needless to say, they were all freaked out and stressed by all this constant fighting, day after day. So one day, in the middle of a particularly vicious argument, he realized the potentially traumatizing effect that this would have on his siblings and the damage it was doing to the relationships within his family and he just ran out and though it was fairly common for him to stomp off in a huff after a spat, he never came back (well, for good). And even though he loves his family and his family loves him, he and his parents just simply could not get along and it brought out the worst in him and it was a bad environment for his kid brother and sisters to grow up in and it would all work out for the best with him gone. At least, that’s his rationale for it.
2) Is your character out on his/her own? If so, why? Uh, shit. See that crazy-rambling paragraph above. He now lives with Brinkfried.
3) Has he/she encountered any traumatizing events? Not really. His dad’s death doesn’t count because he was too young to remember, and his past family life doesn’t count ‘cos it’s all mostly his fault.
4) What was probably the best time in his/her life so far? Childhood, his siblings being born, meeting up with Brinkfried.
Romance:
1) Single? No.
2) Has your OC developed any romantic relationships? Plenty, both female and male.
4) Does your character like flirting? Yes. But he’s got a no-sex-till-the-third-date-at-least rule going on, so he’s not whorey or anything.
Symbolism:
1) What animal would you associate your OC with? A deer (damn you and that INSANELY adorable animation, Vanessa!) or a mouse or a rat.
2) Musical Instrument? Drums?
3) Element? Water, probably.
4) Planet? Mercury. It’s small and hot.
Showing the Love:
1) Do you draw your character? Yep. Asian eyes are really surprisingly difficult to draw.
2) Do you write about him/her? Besides RPing, not really, but of course I like to think up little side-storylines in my head.
3) Do you use him/her in any rpgs? H’yup.
4) What other ways have you appreciated your OC? I...drew him in a skirt twice once.
RANDOMIZE!
1) Is your character wanted for anything? Probably shoplifting or underage drinking/smoking.
2) What are three weaknesses in him/her? Being a stupid teenager, eating too much, and being extremely ticklish.
3) Strengths? An all-around nice guy, bilingual, and a really good cook (in Chinese food, at least)
4) Does your OC drink or smoke (ect.)? He used to when he was seventeen, to look cool in front of his buddies, but quit with relative ease.
5) What's one quirk about him/her? He constantly tugs on his ear or fiddles with his piercing (light pulling if he’s happy or sheepish or something, but he’ll pinch the cartilage really hard if he’s upset or angry)
6) Does your character have any phobias? Afraid of heights, but otherwise not really.
7) What could you do to get him/her into a blind rage? Try as he or both of them will, he can never get along with his uncle or mother. But also if someone insults or tries to hurt his family or Brinkfried.
8) Does your OC like chickens? He makes a great General Tsao’s chicken.
The Final Question:
What would you consider your relationship with your character to be like? In general, good. He was easy to make. And he’s usually pretty good to me, since he thinks and speaks fairly simply [read: I don’t need to watch my grammar or sentence structure when I write his dialogue] but I occasionally stumble when I’m writing him. His eyes are also sometimes hard to get right.
I forgo-ed (forwent?) the formatting because I don't have the time for it when I should be doing something more constructive, but mostly because I'm a lazy ass.
[edit:] And, uh, if any of you guys actually know how to pronounce "Jianjun," be a dear and tell me, because I'm lame pronouncing things even in English, much less Chinese.
