She'd only been to a few festivals back home (thanks to the entire crew giving Johnny pleading looks until he agreed to take some time off their schedule to let them attend), but no one would have been able to tell from May's wide-eyed enthusiasm towards every single thing at the festival-- although that enthusiasm had visibly wavered once she'd been handcuffed to Gil. But, other than that, she'd bounced all over the place, from the House of Mirrors to that Twister game to the buffet (where she finally sampled sushi) to the boats to that weird booth with all of those clothes ( ... )

Fakir honestly wasn't sure how he'd gotten stuck in this situation. He remembered the little doll coming over to say hello. And constantly having to tip her head back to look at him. And him eventually feeling bad for how much effort it apparently took her. So he'd picked her up.

... And now it had come to this. Hina Ichigo was comfortably settled on his head and occasionally giving it little pats, as if to remind him that she was still there.

Hina Ichigo and Boota had been conversing with expressions of grave seriousness for the past ten minutes, and Simon couldn't help but wonder what they were even discussing that would cause them to behave this way.

Finally, with a firm nod, Hina looked up at her friend. "Simon..."

This was it! The moment of truth! Surely now he'd learn what they'd been speaking of! It had to be something phenomenal, like piercing the heavens, or--

"What is it, Hina?"

"... Boota wants you to ask the funny loud blue man to stop using him when he's not wearing any pants, na no."

It was strange, and Amu could have laughed that it was the very idea of a normal person that she found so strange. Granted, that was most likely due to having been on this island for far too long, but she had been beginning to think that she was the only (mostly) sane person here. Thankfully, however, she had met that girl inside of that weird mirror place, and it had been nice to hold someone's hand just because they were both equally scared of the mirrors.

And so what if Michiru happened to be possessed by a witch? Amu just so happened to have three little magical midgets who made her life far from dull, but that didn't make her insane.

So they stood together and watched Laharl laughing maniacally over his newest evil scheme.

"AND THEN I'LL SMASH IT WITH A METEOR! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

"... He's lost it."

"... I don't think he ever had it."

The two girls sighed in unison and exchanged weary smiles.

Yes, it was nice to be the only sane ones on the entire Island.
