I priced out a $300 mini pc that actually kinda rocks, add $25 and you get some wifi, which is awesome. I'm falling in love with mini itx boards I think.

First day back to work with a busy morning, which is nice. Catching up on things etc. Hopefully some shopping soon, need to make some lists etc. etc etc, lol. Oh internal monologue.

The first time we're spending more than 1 day somewhere. Met up with Tegan's friend Abby, who is an animator, yesterday and going to meet up with my friend Dave for dinner tonight. Again, cities are awesome.

Civilization again, woot. I can haz showers n shit. It's awesome, go cities.

One of the few campsites to have cell signal, well maybe I spoke too soon. Trip has been flying by so far, got pissed off at some park rangers for marking up some trash left by previous occupants. Tarp is at least very useful, campsite is covered with snow. Tomorrow is San Fran for 2 days, it'll be good to have a real bed and showers in the morning ( Read more... )

We got to see some big red(standing by) trees today driving next to cliffs, and with large drop-offs. My ears hate me for altitude changes, which might be expected. So it seems like we're stopped in one place that has cell coverage between parks, being out of warmth of death valley and into the recently snowed on sequoia forest. Oh the chilling anticipation.

We got to the Hoover Dam(no spies allowed) and then on the way to the grand canyon it started snowing, and it hasn't stopped yet. we're going to hang around a bit to see if we'll get a view, but so far not much can be seen of the other side of the canyon.

We're eating breakfast in Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, which is kinda humorous before we leave for the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. The trip to vegas was short, but just long enough it seems. We're on to less flattering accomidations.

I came across something today that I'd forgotten about for a while. The sony ux180. A device truely ahead of it's time, a portable computer for people with edge, wifi and bluetooth. Now I'm thinking about sony and how they've totally just had some amazing ideas that totally flop because it's too costly for people to be interested. I guess they ( Read more... )
