"Needs" was a good episode, but it could have been earlier to give the other dolls some personality. On the downside, the quality of the cast and the other characters doesn't reflect well on Eliza or Caroline.

Lots of revelations, drama and comedy in this one, a really Whedon season arc episode. Next week looks good too. Essentially though, at this point it's self-evidently a Whedon show that works on all the usual levels.

Dollhouse 1.6 seems to have done well with reviewers. I'm pretty sure those reviews will be spolerific (the AV Club one certainly is) but the Whedsoneque thread I've linked to didn't have any unmarked spoilers at the time of writing. Exercise caution accordingly.

The sixth episode was as game changing as Joss had promised. Up to this point, the episodes had been steadily improving as the situation became more complex and the setting deepened, while character investment had been enough to keep me interested, but certainly nothing like the rest of the Whedonverse. The Episodes are getting better and better and from the brief promo of the fabled episode six (the first penned by Joss) it looks like it's going to be as good as the Whedon-sphere hopes!

Dollhouse episode two was also good. After a few hints at this season's arc in the first episode, the second gets right into it with some well integrated background exposition, a plot-ridden monster of the week episode and some nice character stuff between the two main actors ( Read more... )

I just finished watching the first episode of Dollhouse on Hulu. It was a solid episode with lots of interesting hooks laid for the rest of the half length opening season.
