today was not the best day ever. but it could have been worse
This morning, I got to the door and realized my favourite heels--the black slingbacks I got in Japan, were broken. The strap had snapped all the way through. so i had to grab different shows.
now i need to go buy some work shoes, which i kind of needed to do before, but now i need to more.
Then i fell on the escalator, thankfully towards the bottom, and thankfully just on my butt instead of down the escalator. because that would have sucked a lot more.
my badge still does not work. The little light turns green, but the doors do not unlock, so still no getting into the office or the bathroom for me. I went and complained, and he assured me that he will hound the people at HHS who are able to activate my badge, but it still wasn't working this evening when i left. tomorrow hopefully?
and i am getting sick. my throat hurts, and inside my nose hurts, and my right ear won't pop. i can feel my sinuses inflame as the infection spreads. and now randomly, sometimes my ear hurts. but other than that, mostly i only feel a little だるい, so again, could be so much worse.
I brought a ziplock bag of cornflakes, one giant onigiri (thanks to jadedfrenzy's tips), and a ham and cheese sandwich--and then went and bought a ham and cheese sandwich from the korean-owned deli in the office's lobby instead. i did eat half the onigiri first though as my snack.
everyone liked my shoes though. I got at least 4 compliments and one discussion about cute shoes in small sizes, mostly from people i don't speak to very much.
For dinner, I made three courses. My rice cooker comes with a thing that goes on top (under the lid) that you can steam things in, so I made a few dumplings at the same time as I made rice. I cut up some tofu and scallions and put them into the instant wagame miso. And then I made stirfry. It was all really good, and very satisfying.
I also cleaned up because my landlord is coming by to pick up the rent, a book his girlfriend was mailed (accidentally to my apartment, since she's in...italy atm i think? she's italian), and discuss the non-functional vacuum cleaner.
the meeting today was very boring. I wrote about a paragraph of porn, and then decided that it would be not very good if I got caught and flipped the page.
