i remember several years ago when i was in Aus. there were a bunch of commercials about closing the healthcare gap. I take it it didn't close as much as they'd hoped?

Well, it's possible pap smears would be covered by my medicare card. I just don't tend to go to the doctor. I don't even tend to think of it as something that needs to be done regularly. Plus, pap smears sound painful and kind of scary.

they're not painful. they are kind of uncomfy.
my doctor claims that you should get them done a few years in a row around now, and then later when you're like, having kids and stuff. the ones now are so when you get them done later, they'll know what's normal for you.

Well, they say here you get them done every two years after you start having penetrative sex and as I've never done that I've figured, why bother. Also, I'm never going to have kids. That's probably a bad attitude as cervical cancer is not likely to discriminate between celibates and normal people.
