I had a very eventful morning:
♠I'm semi-friendly with the bus driver who drives the 12 o'clock 25B towards ballston. He asked where I was going when I got on with my carryon, so I told him I had a wedding to get to. Somewhere in there, though, he thought I was the one getting married. I had to clear things up when I got off, and he wished me congratulations. ^^;;
♠There was also this idiot girl who got on the bus. Or so I thought, but it actually turns out she's just visiting a friend, so there's really no reason she should know the bus system. demo sa. you'd think she'd be able to figure out where to put her bus fare, at the very least.
At any rate, I was caught looking too long because I was trying to figure out why she was acting so stupid, and apparently, I am not intimidating, because then she decided I would a good person to ask all those public transportation questions. ...
She's from Berlin, and she's staying until mid-late April. She got into DC yesterday from NYC. She was actually quite nice, if a little bit clueless, and hopefully she met her friend in time.
And for unknown reasons I tend to monophthong my [ai] sequences in awkward friendly stranger interactions.
Heather ran into me in the hallway and we bitched about field methods (a lot). Good times.
Then I gave my presentation. It was massively awkward and dead until i threw out the emoji question. but then it was good, so i am semi-relieved.
The airport was kind of awful. For one thing, there were like, 8 million junior high school students running around the cramped and tiny terminal (Reagan was obviously designed in the era before insane airport security), being, well. very very young teenagers in large groups. As in, noisy and annoying. Doing crap to get on each other's nerves. That kind of thing. I wanted to punch them all.
One group left once their massively delayed plane took off, but they were replaced by a larger, more annoying group who are in fact all on my plane now.
My own plane was delayed maybe around half an hour because, apparently, something was broken, and I shinpai shiteta about catching my connecting flight. 結局にぎりぎりだったけど、間に合った。
思わずI ate the pretzels they gave me and now i wish I'd saved them. because airplane pretzels are perfect for keeping in one's purse indefinitely for emergencies.

we are watching cartoon kat-tun on a real tv.
I want to take kame home with me. we might have to get a cat, though. Also, Jin + Nakamaru = love. They're just so adorable.
