the end of an empire

I spent the most awkward half-hour ever today. Standing for 30 minutes in an elevator. ...i felt progressively more awkard the longer i was inside, simply because in the back of my head, i knew it wasn't exactly a 'normal' activity. And then there were jumps when someone who'd been on earlier got on again. things like "Are you just riding the elevator up and down?" So, you know. if you ever have a spare half-hour. Don't spend it that way.
But people who smiled when they asked were less scary than the one that didnt'. She, hmmm. I'm trying to decide if i'd like her if i knew her. Probably i would. but i'd have to get used to the sharp edges first.

I am hungry.

I think. I think that 3 day weekends are kind of like the slightly more responsible (and national) version of partying too hard and getting completely trashed. Ok, so maybe it doesn't sound like a good analogy on the surface. Roll with me for a bit. 3 day weekends, and the too-much-to-drink scenarios have two key factors in common: 1) you enjoy them at the time. At the time they seem like a good idea, and a lot of fun. 2)the next day, on the other hand, is kind of shitty. Tell me this doesn't hold true for both.
I for one, this day after my 3-day-weekend, feel a little bit like I got hit by a bus. It's what i get for getting used to sleep.

No morning class thursday! Yay! young teachers who have a lot of conferences!

The light outside is doing some pretty things, and i took a couple of pictures, but, alas, i lack the proper cord with which to transfer those pictures to the computer.
Kind of like the pictures I take with my phone... Whenever i see the jianjian & her computer next, I'll have to make her get them via bluetooth, and then email them to me.

I wonder if i should.have to get an external mic for my mp3 player, or if the recordings i can take now will suffice.
