I didn't do this in a long time but I decided to bore everybody again with my strange TV habits.
This week's subject is FAIRLY LEGAL.
I started watching it on Monday night because my brain was in a strange place that didn't allow me to watch the things from my original list and I was clearly not on the right frame of mind to either finish my assignment for
no_takebacks (I promise that I'll work on it and submit it next week) or read some serious fic (But be assured that I'll be back to spam you all with my strange comments).
Anyway, was looking for something new, not very long (or complicated) and that had at least one thing that I would probably enjoy. And ended up trying this on. And I wasn't disappointed. Actually, I sort of liked it. OK, ok, I have to admit, the fact that the first scene involved a fairly large amount of exposed skin from Michael Trucco didn't hurt at all. I mean, look at him (this is from ep 5 but you get my point)
But the show has other advantages, like the possibility to squee from time to time (and not always because of the already mentioned eye-candy) but because in one episode I got to see Esai Maorales bossing around Michael Trucco, in another one we got Eddie McClintock from Warehouse 13 (and Bones) and Camille Sullivan from Rookie Blue. And in other there is one of the women from Caprica - won't say which in order not to spoil people. Oh yes, and we get to see Richard Dean Anderson from time to time. He is from from the shape that we knew him on but still squee worthy. and the list can go on and on.
Anyway, just like with BoP if you want something serious, dark, with long complicated plots - this is not the show to watch. BUT if you want a distraction (and a good looking one at that) give it a try. There are nice surprises in there. Like Leo the assistant. And some well hidden winks at some other shows.
Now, IMHO the only thing that is missing from this show is to have Jamie Bamber (or Nathan Fillion, or both but that would probably kill me) walk in an episode and flirt with Kate Reed. But until then I enjoy Trucco while he is not messing up my favorite parring in the show.
On other news:
I managed to get to season 5 of Deep Space Nine and I'm still a little confused by the pairings in this show. But Julian is just funny to look at (and listen) and I keep imagine Gaius in his place.
And I got to season 3 of Dr Who which means that from now on I actually see the episodes not what they managed to reconstruct. I'm still on a so-so note with this show but I'm still giving it a try.
On new shows (meaning shows that I'm up-to-date with) I SQUEE every week when I watch Castle, I continue to miss Castiel and I really don't know what the heck is going on with Damon - he used to be so fun.
Before I forget - why is February 7th so far away?
About the serious part of my life I'll not say more than the fact that the elusive chapter 7 of my thesis is a WIP. But it exists so that's a good thing. Now I only have to finish it and the profs to approve it and then..... Gaius Baltar here I came.
