*nods* Yeah, I would totally take some fic right about now. *_* And I mean, normally, I feel like I'd think about doing it, but... IDK, I feel like I can't write fic until I come to terms with Things, and I don't know how to do that? ^_~ But I hope someone else can! Because there's just so much you could read into it, you know? Especially with THOTD. *_
( ... )
I've got a really, really long reaction post on my journal. But the gist of it is. I enjoyed the episode. The team dynamics that had been missing for me previously, were there. The Esther/Gwen friendship was there, along with Esther/Jack and I firmly believe that Esther and Rex are our Tosh/Owen 2.0.
The Oswald stuff is continually freakin' me out.
I loved the drunk-dial, and how it gave us a glimpse into Jack's head. Like sariagray, My head is having a BRILLIANT time trying to smash it together with THOTD canon.
I agree with the sex scene, all that hype and really... I've seen worse on one of our free-to-air channels here in Australia.
I firmly believe that Esther and Rex are our Tosh/Owen 2.0 - Yes, absolutely. I was sort of hesitant to think that at first, but I'm totally on board with it now. <3 Rex's angsty exit in that episode totally reminded me of Owen, post... first death? *_*
Yeah, Oswald is just...really a fascinating character. He could be so black and white, and I love that he's not. *_*
As for the drunk-dial scene, I'm totally hoping for fic to really explore all the possibilities there~ There are just SO many places you can go! *_*
I feel like I've seen worse sex scenes on regular TV here too. O_o I mean, it was a nice scene, not a let down or anything like that, but the way they'd been talking about it, I expected something a lot more graphic!
I think we all expected something more graphic after all those interviews beforehand. The way JB put it, I even assumed full frontal nudity. I was not sure whether I really wanted that, but that's what I got from it.
The only explanation I have so far that this was about that other scene, and this little scene was only to introduce new viewers to the concept of gay sex in general, so that the other one does not come as a complete surprise? *shrugs*
*nods* Yeah, from all that was being said about it, I really was expecting something really, truly graphic! And I mean, I was honestly fine with the scene as it turned out? I thought it was tasteful and sexy, without seeming overly gratuitous, so... Yeah, no complaints, just confusion as to why there was such a huge deal made over it. *_*
Let's talk again when the series is over. Agreed. ;) I'm curious as to how this flashback episode will be handled, with this other former lover of Jack's. *_*
I can see it both ways, with the coat thing. It was a more...gut reaction, for me, that I didn't want them to go there, I think? But I can understand why they did. And I like what it says about Jack's state of mind. *nods*
I usually don't go much for femslash either, but I just really liked the vibe between them in this episode. <3 I don't even know if I'd see it as any more than friendship in the end, really, but... I was totally, totally thinking "KISS HER!!" in that scene, so... *laughs* Who knows! I'll keep an open mind. ^_~
I also really loved that line of Gwen's when she's watching the video, lol. Rhys is so accomodating, too~ ♥ I'm really hoping we get more of him in the series. *_*
I also love love love the tone of Gwen with "put up the baby!" It was so cute ;)
But I also love Jack and Rex butting heads. I had looked forward to that. Because yes, it sometimes really feels as if Jack is only secondary in his own story.
I don't think he will be secondary much longer. I don't feel that he's secondary right now, just not more important than the others. The trailers promise some interesting past stories and I can't wait for that.
