So this episode left me with lots of feelings. *__*
I didn't dislike it. It just left me feeling weird. The phone scene with Jack and Gwen especially. Looking back on it, and watching it again, I feel less weird. But still. I don't know. I think I'm just coming to realize more and more, that Ianto is just gone. Really gone. Which is...obvious, I know, but for some reason this episode really drove that home for me.
But anyway. :D There were a lot of things about it that I liked.
1. Esther and Gwen friendship~ Or, you know, more than friendship. That'd be fine, too. AND RECITING POETRY? GUH. <3
2. Oswald. I completely can't figure him out, and I kind of love that. He's creepy but also somehow seems genuine at times, and it's just...very strange and perplexing.
3. Hungover!Jack. GUH. ADORABLE. <3
4. This list will now switch over to random observations. :P
5. I thought the switch from "yay, we're doing things as a team" to "we're all (or at least some of us) going to have sex now" was really abrupt. O_O Sarah and I were sitting there joking about how on earth they were going to segue unto sex, and then they just...didn't? IDK, it just felt oddly abrupt to me.
6. The sex scene, for me, was nothing to write home about. I was surprised that after all that, it was over so fast!
7. Really wondering what's going on with Jack in that scene at the end. *_* I couldn't tell if he really knows more than he's letting on, or if he's just paranoid and assuming things? But why would he think Phicore knew his name?
8. I was bothered that they went there with the coat, and Jack. I just... Would rather they hadn't. :P
9. Ditto on the "we're good, aren't we" line. Maybe it's just be being nuts and thinking about Ianto all the time, but... I couldn't really stop myself from drawing the parallel to Ianto's line in COE, and so it just felt weird. I couldn't tell if it was intentional or not with how the rest of that conversation went? So it just left me feeling strange about the whole thing.
10. Gwen kicks ass, and is generally awesome ALL THE TIME now. And I love that. I seriously feel like she's sort of leveled up with this series, as far as skills and everything go. YAY. <3
11. I loved Jack calling them "team" for the first time. <3 And I really like the team dynamics that seem to be forming with everyone.
12. I am really, really intrigued as to where it seems like they're going with the whole Jack + Oswald connection. Though I still can't quite figure out why Jack broke into his hotel room without any sort of plan for escape. O_o I was just pretty much perplexed by most of that scene though, so... :P
...I think that's all? :P
I am curious as to what you guys thought of this episode though. I've watched it twice so far and I still can't sort out how I feel about it, lol. I guess that's not a terrible thing? ;)
