Emerging from the womb....

I'm thinking that we might venture out today.

I don't do Black Friday--ever. I might run to the market for needful things, but I don't buy anything in a retail store, thereby condoning the madness that is Black Friday.

I figure that the retailers will be hosting a sufficient number of up-to-their-eyeballs-in-consumerism folk to not miss me at all, and I really was just feeling so good about life that I didn't want to go out there and have what optimism I have for the state of humanity completely beaten out of me via the observation of full bore, elbows out, push through the crowds buying.

We are thinking about venturing out to Zern's today, however, in that there are a few spices that I need, and I want to check out the meat market to see if they carry some nice veal shanks. Tyler Florence made an ossa buco today that had my mouth raining cats and dogs, but nice plump veal shanks are in short supply, even in the bigger supermarkets, so maybe I can find some at the farmer's market.

If so, there will be pictures. If not, I'll just have to figure out what to have for dinner otherwise.

And Paul needs winter gloves, so veal or no veal, it won't be a wasted trip.

It's beautifully sunny out here today, but pretty freezy--there are icicles on the pergola--so it's bundle-up time.

Time to get out there and rock and roll....

farmer's market, holiday, get out there
