A bazillion things to do today....

...none of which involve sitting at the computer and watching the Food Network, which I've been doing all morning so far.

We went out yesterday and stimulated the economy (ha!) by purchasing a new mattress and box spring, as well as two latex pillows and covers for all of them.

We got this one, and these pillows, which ended up being really a lot more than we wanted to spend, but at the same time because of the holiday sales and the clearance status of the mattress and foundation itself, as well as the discounted warranties and the two-fer on the pillows, we saved nearly $1000 on the total purchase. And we really, really needed them--our backs and knees will be considerably happier now.

So I started preparing for this afternoon's delivery (yes, they will deliver, as well as take the old stuff away) by fresh-washing our nicest set of sheets and my favorite summer-weight blanket, so those are ready. But now I have to strip the bed and clear the path to the bedroom for the delivery guys by shifting around some of the furniture in the living room as well as the bedroom, so that they have plenty of room to move around and set things up.

I also wanted to do some stuff in the yard (it's finally starting to warm up, thank all that's holy), and I have to get to the market for hamburger fixin's for dinner...

.....who IS this woman on the Food Network right now? This "Chic and Easy" twonk? Mary Nolan? Who's she?

Oh--an advertising copywriter at Gourmet magazine and a culinary student, from Davenport, Iowa (which clearly makes her a food expert, no?)...

She's about annoying as hell....

So I can get busy now, or wait a little longer for Ina to come on....

food network, day to day life, home improvement, home
