Making stuff, trying not to melt, about to flee to a colder region

Summer is here. It's reached that sad time of year when all of the plants start looking brown, the AC runs night and day, and I have to find new ways of keeping an active child happy without being able to spend much time outside. Upsides? Summer CSA, less laundry, DH isn't teaching classes so his schedule is more flexible.

Ansel has finally reached the age where I can work on projects and he can mostly amuse himself. Some days are better than others, but we've had enough good days that I have been able to get my Etsy shop up and running. It's been up just over a month now and I've actually sold some things, so I'm feeling good about it. It's really nice to sew again, although I am constantly having to clean up my sewing space after Ans is in there. He throws the spools of thread on the floor and they roll around and tangle, and he gets into my buttons and spreads them across every part of the house. And the zippers. They are everywhere. Here's the shop: analogaccessories.etsy.com

We are preparing to flee TX for a week starting on June 8th. We are heading to Portland, OR to see my mom and my sister will also be there with her family. And we are planning to consume lots of vegan goodies and take lots of deep lungs full of nice wet Portland air.

Then, two days after we get home, Ansel turns three years old. Amazing!
