I never thought...

so, over the summer Jordan actually managed to get me completely addicted to an anime (yet she wouldn't watch Who with me?! rrr). I did always enjoy watching Inuyasha with her, but that was because we mostly liked to make fun of it. i never thought that i'd get into one for real, but this Ouran High School Host Club has proved me wrong. Basically, ( Read more... )

good guesses, indeed, but my favorite is actually Mori. he doesn't die (yay!), but he's not really *much* of a character, either. but there's just something about him...

I really didn't like Tamaki at first, but he *really* grew on me...he may sneak up from behind, eventually. i doubt if he'll ever beat Mori, but he may get darn close. He is very Three-ish...i'd never thought about it, but he does have that same gentlemanly, gracious, yet also a slightly "i'm a superior being but would like to learn about lower life forms" quality about him. Excellently observed, dearest Robin. i bow to your character-analysis skills.

As for Honey, i can definitely relate to the man/kid/guy/etc., but after several viewings of multiple episodes, I began developing a serious interest in Kyouya's character. i really don't think he's as evil as he seems, but he's about as difficult to figure out as Mori. Honey does come after Kyouya, as they share some common traits (oddly enough) - specifically a loathing of being woken up early...apparently people die when that happens. and they have the same blood-type, which Tamaki uses as proof to Haruhi that Honey has an evil side. because evidently, sharing Kyouya's blood type just makes you evil. (?!) whatever. But Kyouya is awesome, and has cool glasses. And a very calm, gentle voice. unless he's threatening your life. then he kind of goes into so-calm-you-should-be-fearing-for-your-life mode.

the twins really kind of just disturb me. would much rather be a pedophile than get involved with the incest brothers. [shudders] ew. but i do love Honey as well.

Impressive as always, my friend. May be that Mori, being a man of action more than words, has a slight disadvantage when you can't see him in motion. but i assure you, he is absurdly graceful. and absolutely gorgeous. and probably spends more time shirtless than any other character. which he definitely has the musculature for it more than anyone else, so he definitely should show off his hard work whenever he gets the chance. i really wish i could have found a pic of him chopping wood. [melty]

which reminds me, do you know how to make screen-caps? i have been wishing i had that skill for quite a while and was wondering if you had any words of infinite wisdom on the matter.

I am clearly full of fail, as proven by the fact that I've just now found your response... ::sigh::

Anyway, yeah, I am sure I would have been able to do better if I had known any of the characters - which is not to say that your descriptions were inadequate, just that there are a lot of subtleties of character and personality that you can't pick up on in text. Also, little things like voice and attitude, etc, etc...

I know how to make screen caps on the computer, but not the telly. I think you have to have a special thingie for that...

no! you are NOT full of fail!

it is much harder without knowing all their little subtleties and quirks, and attitudes and *especially* voices. and i do adore Tamaki...the more i re-watch the show, the more i like him. same for Honey, really. he's got some surprises up his little sleeves. But Mori and Kyouya are the two i was immediately attracted to. and they both have really cool voices. so it was a bit unfair to have to go off just my humble little descriptions.

If you could impart your knowledge of screen-capping on the computer (which is the knowledge i really need...i don't really have anything on telly that i need capturing) to me, i would appreciate it immensely! i'd like to be able to use Who and Ouran screen-caps as desktops and whatnot. And maybe i could get you that pic of Mori chopping wood...^____^ [day-dreamy..]

I have no idea why I was convinced that you meant capturing things on telly, to the point of not telling you how to do it on the computer... Silly me.

Anyway, you should have a key that says "print screen" or "prt sc" or something along those lines; mine is the secondary function on my "insert" key, so I hit "fn" down in bottom the left-hand corner of the keyboard along with "insert/prt sc" up in the top right. That copies an image of the entire monitor display into a temporary (invisible) clipboard (like when you copy text), and you can paste the screenshot into an image editor or Word or whathaveyou.

Some file formats and some media players have massive difficulty with this, and you might get a shot of the screen but with a giant, gaping hole* right where the picture you want is. If that happens, let me know what OS, file format, and media player you are using and I'll do what I can to help. I used to have trouble with it all the time when I was running WMP on XP, but the version of WMP that came with Vista seems to have figured it all out (and you have no idea how it pains me to admit that Vista did something right...)

* And by "giant, gaping hole" I mean just that - it goes all the way through the image editor, and, if you have the editor open in front of the media player, you may not even notice that there is a hole until you move the image.

thank you!!! you are awesome. truly. so i will definitely give this a go soon and let you know of any problems i may have. on my keyboard, the print screen key looke rather like this:

Prt Scr
--------
SysRq

so does this mean that the Prt Scr is the default use of that key, or do i have to do something fancy with it?

thanks again for all you help!!
