Okay, I finally have a minute to post about it.
It was awesome!!!
From the minute you stepped in the door, it was like a total fantasy. The venue was just gorgeous! It was held in a historical building and the furnishings were drop dead fabulous. I kept looking at the paintings and thinking, "Oh wow, that's my next costume! No, that's my next costume!". Really, it was swanky.
And piles of food on this table, and that table. They even had a table filled with huge jars of candy. Just pull a bag off the table, grab a scoop and you are all set with the candy. Which I didn't, cause I don't like candy, but if I did I would be in heaven. And the food just kept coming, all night long. I thought it would all be done by the time I finished performing, but no. Wonderful, tasty local food all night long. While in New Orleans, they gave you a chance to have a taste of gator without committing to an entire plate. And I really loved that thoughtfulness on their part.
But speaking of candy... The guests!!!!! All dressed to the nines making for the most delicious eye candy I have seen in a very long time. Everyone took it to be the high class event that it was and dressed accordingly. I don't know what was more fabulous, the house, food or wondrous costumes. And they were all great people, not a single fuck up. Everyone was there to have a good time without messing up anyone else's good time. So naturally, good times were had by all.
They had me out on the gazebo, which provided Kim with a little stress. It was getting cold, and terrific promoter that she is, she worried about me. But it turned out to be perfect weather. And hey, I GOT TO DANCE IN A GAZEBO!!!! It was very well lit, from above actually. It was like dancing in some sort of fairy tale. I loved it.
But the most impressive thing was how smoothly it all went. First time events always have a snag or two. But this ran like clockwork. If there was a snag, they were so well prepared for it, you couldn't tell. They even had someone at the end of the night standing outside flagging down cabs for us. Which was a big help to me and Onyx, let me tell you.
And to top it all off, before you left everyone was graciously handed a swag bag full of witchy goodness.
And I get to do this again next year!!!! Woo hoo!
