Non-Story!
So here's the usual Wednesday update, full of story things, some life things, and all that good stuff. Yup. It's been rather uneventful, so I don't really have much to report. Ahh well. Off we go!
What's Goin' On in Hannah-Land
Life Things
- Finally got to talk to the IZ last Thursday! We're going to try to make it a weekly thing - that way the little goober won't forget, and I get awesome talky-to-people time. Heh. OH! *squee* And after we ate, we went to a bookstore... and I bought a collection of the first two Discworld graphic novels. YAY! That's freaking awesome, let me tell you what. And it's extra great because one of the only complaints I have with Pratchett is that he gives almost no physical descriptions of his characters. So I had no idea what Rincewind looked like, and for some reason that bothered me a lot. Heh. But now I have a picture! Huzzah. I've already read The Colour of Magic and I've stared on The Light Fantastic. Yay! Man I'm excited. Heh.
- Only two days of school this week! YAY!
- Looking forward to Thanksgiving (tomorrow). That should be nice - eating and seeing family and all those lovely things
- Jess got the CUTEST haircut - it looks great on her
- Well, we didn't get to have Brother-Off, but I did get to meet Max's brother. (WITH THE MOST AWESOME NAME EVER.) He and Max went out to eat with me and Zee, and we all had a good time. Of course, Zee and I got to go on another Doctor Who rant, which we do so very often. Heh. I think we're going to try to have like an "official" Brother-Off, but I'm not sure when - and Noodle and Zee's brother can come. Yay. Heh heh. But yes - Sheffy. Coolest name EVER. Heh.
- Need to get Mutti a birthday present...
- the stupid stud I have in my nose keeps coming out... I need to use the twisty one, but it's a bitch to put back in
- YAY! Got to see Smacky and Amy yesterday. That was awesome and even though we only got to hang out for like two hours or so, I'm really happy I got to see them. A's been really busy lately, so we haven't had a chance to talk/e-mail as much as we usually do. And I don't think I talked to Smacky since the beginning of the month. Last time I called her was that crazy weekend when I felt all black hole
- I LOVE the show Chuck, but not only is it just really fun to watch, it has some freakin' awesome music. Almost all the new songs I've gotten lately I heard on the show!
Story/Writing Things:
- Things I've Done This Week: What He Sees, a Mal/Inara triple-drabble for firefly100; Chapter Two of "String Theory"; Walk in the Park, that freakin' piece that was supposed to be for rayne_shippers October Challenge that I FINALLY finished
- Well, when I posted "Walk in the Park", in the comments (yay! I love comments ^_^) both miere85 and sunshineali said they might be interested in seeing more of the "Apples and Crazy" 'verse. Now, clearly all Rayne-writers need to have a moment using the apple cliché, so this shall be mine. I've been planning this out a little bit, but I don't have much. Basically, it's going to be the same set-up as "Walk", where Mal decides Jayne and River need to work together and they'll probably end up being a couple or something again. Yay! I'm going to try to get this finished by mid-December or so
- the Secret Santa exchange at jellie_shippers just sent out assignments, so I have mine! *flails with excitement* I LOVE the whole idea of a fic exchange because a.) it involves writing, b.) I get my own story written by someone, c.) it's awesome to give someone else a fic! Yay! I'm so excited! I can't wait to write it. Hee. I'm in like three others, too, so I'm gonna be busy this holiday! Yay.
- Got prompts for the Christmas Advent at metamorfic_moon. YAY! Mine are "Brandy" and "Always winter and never Christmas; think of that!" - from the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. I've never actually been able to finish a Remus/Tonks fic (except for the Candy story, which is sort of... well, yeah), so I'm going to try extra-hard to get this done!
- I got a beta request (that site I joined, Perfect Imagination), so I need to get that done by the end of the month
- Bit from the "String Theory"-verse: Simon sighed, wiping a hand across his brow. "He needs rest now, but... but he'll be fine."
Bonny nodded, the lines of worry smoothing out of her face. "Good. That's good. When can I see him? Just... just see him, I don't have t'talk to him." She tried to keep her expression neutral, but her eyes were filled with emotion.
The doctor smiled at her. "I suppose you can go in for a minute. But only a minute - I don't want anyone to disturb him. We don't want to impede his recovery."
"Of course, doctor. I understand."
She nodded once and ducked away, walking briskly to the infirmary.
"He really gonna be okay, doc?" Wash asked, a hand on his wife's shoulder.
"Yes. Yes, I think he's in no immediate danger. He's young and strong - he should heal completely in a few weeks. Provided he doesn't strain himself."
"Ain't ever seen that girl so serious," Mal said, shaking his head. "He better get better - for her sake if not for his own."
"I'm sure he'll be fine," Kaylee said. She grinned. "I think it's shiny. She loves him more'n anything - ain't that jus' the cutest thing?"

Well! Guess that's it! Obviously, like I said, not much going on as of late. Heh.
