Music Rec like WHOA

So, went to the Sick Puppies show on Friday.

Long story short?  Sick Puppies were flipping AWESOME and I'm a new fangirl of Madam Adam--They rock, check them out.  Now.  Right Now.  WHY AREN'T YOU GONE YET?

Anywho, for those of you who want more details... Sick Puppies?  They were flipping AWESOME!!!!  I had such a blast!  Shimon is a fabulous frontman, had *great* crowd interaction, and sounded phenominal, both with vocals and guitar--I love those huge Epiphones he has <3333333.  Emma rocked that bass like none other, and even Mark was great fun to watch on drums--he did some great acoustic stuff during that part of the show, and then I happened to be watching him when he was playing and goofed on a stick trick--his expression and "eh, oh well" shrug were awesome, and I couldn't hear any skip in the beat :D  It's hard to believe there are only the 3 of them, the sound is *SO* good! <333333333  They also stayed after upstairs in the venue to sign and do a meet'n'greet for those who bought tee shirts/cds--I had a stamp 'cause I got their "Polar Opposite" cd--an unplugged version of 8 of my favorites--but the line was ginormous and I had work at 7 yesterday, so no signatures for me :(   Bonus points to them 'cause it was fairly easy to wash off at home--didn't need to be going in to work with "odd one" stamped on my arm, LOL.  Wish they played a couple more songs, but that's just 'cause I'm greedy--they played for more than an hour, including most of my favorites, all of their popular/singles, some great acoustics, a couple covers (bits and pieces of some older songs with Shimon on acoustic--getting us to sing along to stuff like "Wonderwall," LOL--and then segued into Don't Walk Away <3333  Then back to electric and they played Cee-Lo Green's Fuck You... it was definitely a rock show, if only for the frequent use of the f-word by all, LOL.  Here, have a Youtube--definitely not mine, I didn't even bring my camera,  but we sounded about like that, LOL

Let's go backwards...

Framing Hanley was right before them--not bad, and enjoyable, but not very striking--didn't end up buying any of their stuff, though I might download their cover of Lollipop and "back to go" when I get another iTunes card

Adelita's Way--Okay, so the soundcheck for this one was very amusing--the rhythm guitarist/backing vocalist did most of the mics, and he was very funny and adorable :)  I watched him for most of the show--helloooooo new boy-in-a-band crush ;)  They hit their stride toward the end of the show, and I would have gone over and bought their cd, but it was such a crush at the merch stand it wasn't worth it.  Plus Keith, the rhythm drummer guy I was enamoured of, isn't on the cd, since he joined after.  I downloaded the rest of the album from iTunes this morning, though (I had Invinceable and Last Stand already), and I'll get their next one when it comes out in a bit :D

Now, the show started at 6:30, but what with working, I didn't get there 'til 7.... so I managed to catch a whopping 1/2 of the last song from Madam Adam :(  I had looked 'em up and was excited to see them 'cause they're from Charleston, and I still feel a lil' bit of hometown kinda pride, since I lived by there for like, 4 years.  That 1/2 a song sounded pretty good, so I headed over and picked up their CD, since they're literally *JUST* starting out--that's their first studio album, and it just came out earlier this month--Chatted a minute with the lead singer (really cute, gorgeous blue eyes, but really short... it seemed there were a lot of short guys there, in general... great for the view of the stage... especially since Shimon's gotta be over 6'.... it was just a little odd since I'm only like,  5'6" O.o)

Anyway, listened to their CD on the way home, and most of this morning....

OMG THEY'RE AWESOME!!!!!  Highly, HIGHLY recommend them if you are a rock fan.  GREAT songwriting, catchy riffs, good melody, decent drums, and Scott's got a very pleasant, warm voice and decent range (though an indecipherable signature :-P), good mix of uptempo and softer songs.  Some examples:

Okay--first single: Sex Ain't Love (not necessarily the best of the album, but rockin' and decent :) )

Forgotten (Not the best sound quality, since it's a live fanvid--the drums are a bit overpowering... but you can see them & get the gist... isn't Scott cute? LOL  And it's fun to watch the drummer's hair going all over the place ^_^)
