Making my now monthly report - the personal edition

Nov 18, 2007 16:09

I can't believe it's been a month since I posted. I did start a Halloween recap/Happy NaNoWriMo kick-off post a couple of weeks ago, but I never got a chance to finish it.

Work is still crazy. It might get better by the second week of December, but I'm not holding out a lot of hope.

I was all set to do work outside today, since we still have Halloween decorations up and a lawn covered in leaves. However, I should have clued into the fact that the reason why each and every one of my neighbors was out working yesterday was because they saw a weather report that called for rain today. Oh well. I guess next weekend will be a combined "Pull down the Halloween decorations/put up the Christmas ones"

Today is my twelfth wedding anniversary. With DH in Italy, not a lot of celebrating going on. In fact, I confirmed when I spoke to him earlier that he had forgotten it was our anniversary until he received the e- card I sent him. I kind of guessed that was the case when on Friday I came home to a "Happy Thanksgiving!" bouquet from him. I was kind of grumpy earlier, but I felt better after talking to him. Tomorrow is a bit of a milestone, because not only would he have been gone for seven weeks, but it will also be one month until he gets to come home for Christmas. He's flying home on December 19th, and will spend a week with us before we all go back to Naples together. That means we'll spend about eighteen days together, which will hopefully let me recharge enough for the second half of this deployment.

Once again, I will be heading out on Black Friday. I've been using this GottaDeal site for all my Black Friday advertising needs.  Because of them, I was able to get a bit of a headstart.  The boys are asking Santa for a Wii, and luckily they let him know early so he could get a bundle before it completely sold out everywhere.  I also got DH a GPS to replace his stolen one.  So the big shopping is done.  There really isn't anything I absolutley have to have on BF, but since I already set it up with my parents to stay over their house Thursday night, so I could go out Friday morning, I'm still heading out.  I'm lookng forward to the fun of it, and getting a brief respite from mom duties.
