I love Christmas, I really do. I just wish it wasn't so stressful leading up to it.
However, today is the first day I feel like I actually have a handle on things. It helped that my little guy was sick and had to stay home from school, which meant I had to stay home from work, which means I got a few things accomplished around the house today.
I also finished my Yuletide story - sort of. It still needs another look over, and a beta read (
calcitrix I'm going to be bugging you for a quick general beta) but at least I'm at the point that if I fall into a coma until next Tuesday, I at least have something to turn in.
In TV news - oh Days. Once again when I'm thinking about cutting loose the strings and running for the hills you hit my Achilles heel.
So yeah, I was done with this show. So much that I had a week's worth of episodes on the TIVO that I watched in ten minutes thanks to the power of fast forwarding. Pretty much as soon as Patrick faked a beating by Bo, that had Hope by his side and swearing off Bo for the umpteenth time this year, I was done. But then Kayla and Steve went on vacation. I was disgusted by this storyline, since I had all I could stand of Steve's amnesia, and Kayla's weeping, and Stephanie's whining to get her parents back together. But then, Steve's memory returned - just like that. I'm not even sure what triggered it, but suddenly he remembers everything and now he'll never let Kayla go ever again. So completely cheesy, but I don't care. They're back together, there's hugging and kissing and he keeps calling her sweetness, and suddenly I'm sixteen again.
I think Hope still loves Bo, I'm not sure. I still can't stand that storyline. Sami and Lucas might have slept together. There was definitely some shirtless action in my fast-forwarding last week. John and Marlena are being cute in Italy, as they got married while searching for Stephano. Mimi and Max found out about Philip, and the revelation caused them to make googly eyes at each other. They then told Kate, who saw the bandaged Philip at Victor's. Victor and Kate are now working together to right all of the wrongs done to Philip. Conveniently enough, Belle and Shawn have put aside all of their differences and are trying to be a real family for Claire. Whatever. Steve and Kayla are together, and that's enough for me :)
I'm really glad the Winter hiatus (or whatever they are calling it) is coming up for BSG. I think we need some time apart. I really didn't like Unfinished Business, and last week's would have been worse but I just don't care that much anymore. Also, I'm not liking the new Sunday at 10 PM timeslot. (Doesn't Sci-Fi realize that the Friday night thing works because I can then spend the weekend reading blogs about it? Trying to skim through LJ on Monday to talk fandom stuff doesn't work as well for me) Yes, I'm old and married and have long since given up Friday nights out.
